Devotion! Dolce&Gabbana F/W13-14 Mens Collcetion

amazed us once again with their F/W13-14 Mens Collection, devoted to the “Devotion” itself!

The amazing Fashion Duo took a further step in showing their bond to the Italian roots and the passion about the Sicilian Culture, they revealed homage to their Catholic roots. It’s well known that Dolce&Gabbana always have the element of “Love” in its every work. But this time Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabban preferred to make the “Real Love” more visible.

On the 12of January, the first Dolce&Gabbana Runway Show of the year took place in Metropol, Milano, during the Milano Moda Uomo.

Presenting their F/W13-14 Mens Collection, Dolce&Gabbana, rocked the Runway, once again with Sicilian people chosen from the streets of Sicily by Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana themselves. People, brought together from different occupations and with different sizes and proportions, once again performed a brisk runway show.

The collection has a concept of “best clothes” that people prefer to wear at their visit to Church on Sundays. The “best clothes”, some pinned with nostalgic amulet-sequin, that are tailored by women for their husbands, by mothers for their children, using the most special fabrics kept in the chests. In respect to the inspiration, Devotion, Sicilians on the Runway with the diversity in fabrics and cuts of the pieces, were look like the people of society, form the wealthy landowner to the farmer, from the governor to the schoolboy, coming together in the Church. At the final of the Runway Show, Sicilan Boys wearing tees with Madonna prints and Men in balck suits, couloured with silk brocade scarfs, closed the runway under the harmonious sound of ringing bells, that completes the concept of the Show and the Collection.

The song chosen for the Runway show was the Nina Rota's La Strada (The Road), from the OST of the Fellini's movie with the same name, which was the film that won the inaugural Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. This choice also seems intentional to show the respect and the pride of the Designers to the Italian Culture.

The most significant thing about Dolce&Gabbana collections, especially the latest ones, is being thematic, iconic and identifiable. Every single piece has something to tell us about the inspirations of the genius designers. Besides being highly iconic, they are also timeless masterpieces that worth to took their places in wardrobes every season.

As the Devotion is the inspiration of the collection, Maddona prints and other religious designs embellishes
the over-sized tees and sweats.

Jeweled tops, white shirts with lace details, wide-sleeve tees, floral prints, velvets and cashmeres, black suits, lace dinner jackets and jackets with needlepoint floral decorations not only mesmerized the audience but also showed the flawless combination of designing and the tailoring skills of the Fashion Duo.

Tapered, relaxed trousers are also showing the collections devotion to tailoring and cut. On the Runway, almost every look was completed with matching shoes made from patent leather, washed suede and velvet. Needlepoint decorations on the shoes are also another eye-catching element of the collection.

The Scorer wears Dolce&Gabbana!

On the 7th of January, Lionel Messi awarded with FIFA Ballon d'Or which is given to the best player of the year.

Beside being the best player of the year, only 25 years old Messi,

beat two records by scoring 91 goals in a year and also by wining Ballon d'Or for the forth time in a row.

The successful scorer preferred a very special outfit for the ceremony as well. The amazing fashion duo Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana prepared

a glamorous tuxedo for the occasion. Dolce&Gabbana tuxedo prepared for the legendary football player was a classically tailored black tuxedo

with little white polka dots that reflects the amusing personalty of the scorer while keeping the elegance at the highest level.

As the designers of the Italian National Football Team for a long time, Dolce&Gabbana was the most convenient choice for a football player as the very creative fashion duo know well how to dress people in a very elegant way, modern enough to be contemporary and bind to their Italian Roots that makes glittering smartness.

Meraviglioso: Dolce&Gabbana SS13 Fashion Show

It is that time of the year! The September! January in Fashion!

The busiest time for the world of fashion!

When Milano Moda Donna starts every season, Dolce&Gabbana shows are being waited with excitement as the genius fashion duo Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana know well how to amaze us not only with their talent and creativity by creating better and more better collections every season but also with reflecting all the inspiration to the runway, like telling a story.

The Intermezzo form the famous Cavalleria Rusticana is one of the most significant elements of their shows. When you take your sit and get ready for the Dolce&Gabbana Fashion Show, you are first mesmerized with the impressive melody of Intermezzo and conditioned to watch something spectacular. Intermezzo, for sure, should be chosen intentionally as the Cavalleria Rusticana tells us a story of which setting is Sicilia.

It was same on the September 23^rd!

Intermezzo was heard at Metropol in Milan and Dolce&Gabbana Spring/Summer 2013 Fashion Show started.

The music chosen and mixed for the Runway were Meraviglioso (means “Wonderful” in Italian) by Domenico Modugno and Vivire In Italia (mean “Living in Italy”) by Nino Monorni. First one was telling how the life is beautiful and how many gifts are given to mankind and the second one, without lyrics; give us the joy of Italy. Both were so harmonious with the inspiration of the collection: Italy, Sicily and its colorful culture. The army of models at the finale, walked with one of the most famous Italian songs: Nel Blu Dipinto Di Blu (Volare) that also let the audience to feel the Italian Culture at its best.

The prickly pear cactuses were used to decorate the runway and the venue. This was also very thematic as the prickly pears are one of the most iconic and recognizable plants of the Mediterranean and there are plenty of them in Sicily.

And the collection!

The one and only word that can be used to summarize all is the “Meraviglioso”!

Dolce&Gabbana Spring/Summer 2013 collection is a great reflection of the Sicilian Culture. From the fabric chosen to the prints applied, the collection is a time travel that takes us to a journey from the ancient times of pottery to the Italian Renaissance and also visits the joyful post-war abundance periods.

Raffia, organza, rough cotton, linen and brocade were used both in their most pure phase and also with very well created prints and embroideries. Prints inspired from the Pupi (traditional Sicilian Puppets), local barrows and peculiar wheels and Moorish Head vases are varied with strips in a very brilliant way to remind the sunny and salty Mediterranean beaches. Dresses and corset made out of straws also are also very innovative and stirring. Coral embroideries are also one of the most elegant elements of the collection.

Concept chosen for the Collection, which was well applied to the house’s Spring/Summer 2013 Menswear Collection is mainly based on the natural state and ease of the Mediterranean Culture yet it is very well flourished and processed to create masterpieces that are referring to streets but not in a shoddy way. With the artistic touch of the fashion duo, the values that are belong to the streets interpreted to bring out a candescent collection.

Styling and fittings were also prosperous at the show. Instead of sorting the looks with the materials and colors used, models demonstrated the collection in a well-blended order that brought out an extra vivid show.

The main elements like Pupi and barrow prints are also used at the Spring/Summer 2013 Menswear Collection of the Dolce&Gabbana. This also makes both collections more adorable that can be results with harmonious couple looks, which makes the collection more recognizable.

Dolce&Gabbana started to warm up the spirits for the spring and the summer from now, and again took everyone to an Italian Tale that brings all the beauties of the wonderful island of Sicily into light.

Sicilian Couture! Dolce&Gabbana is launching the Couture Collection!

It is reported that, on June 27^th Dolce & Gabbana will launch a couture collection for the first time that will be showed to a privileged group of clients on July 9^th in Taormina, Sicily.

After closing the relatively lower-priced D&G line, it was expected what the house will represent. The couture collection is the next step of the house just after announcing the first Dolce&Gabbana Children’s Collection.

It is obvious that with the latest attacks like Dolce&Gabbana Velvet Collection Perfumes and Dolce&Gabbana Swiss Made Timepieces, the house aims to solidify its place in the high luxury market, which is the safest place in today’s world that is struggling with the crisis.

On the other hand, launching the couture collection away from Paris, the centre of Haute Couture, and just after the Haute Couture Fashion Week where some Italian Fashion Houses will demonstrate their Couture Collections is worth to talk about.

Not choosing Paris can be considered as shunning criticism and avoiding restrictive and highly demanding rules of the French Haute Couture at fist sight, but it is much rather a brave opposing to the clichés of the fashion industry.

With the innovative and very creative personalities of the Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana it is always expected from the Dolce&Gabbana to break the rules and without taking the imposed things into consideration, to do something in the way that Fashion Duo wants.

It is also clear that even the place for the event is chosen intentionally to show the house’s passion to the Italian and especially Sicilan Culture. It is quite certain that the heritage inspired sartorial skills of the Dolce&Gabbana will glitter in the historic quarters of Taormina by all means.

Prickly Pears of Sicilia warmed up Milano! Dolce&Gabbana SS13 Men's Fashion Show

On June 23, the first day of Milano Moda Uomo, Dolce&Gabbana rocked the city with the SS13 Men's Fashion Show.

The main inspirations of the collection are simplicity and natural beauty. As Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana influenced and inspired from the cultural opulence of the Sicily, they put too many characteristics of the island together to create a collection that is full of comfortable yet tidy looks.

The inspiration of the collection is beyond objects or eras. It is “the culture” itself. That’s because from the fabrics chosen to the forms and prints, the collection is a revised interpretation of the Sicilian Culture.

Stripes, and the high wasited cropped trousers are the most remarkable elements of the collection that reflects the devotion of the Sicilian Culture to the seas. Comfortable and loose forms also used in a very refined way in order to create easy-to-wear, not exaggerated at all yet chic pieces. Colorful Pupi (traditional puppets) prints and thick stripes heated the collection while referring to the vivid side of the Sicilian Culture. The looks are completed mostly with very well designed sandals that are already became objects of desire.

Dolce&Gabbana Fashion Shows are always exceptional as they are beyond demonstrations of collections but literally "show". Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana always amaze the audience with their genius.

As the inspiration of the collection was the culture itself, Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana, to show their appreciation to the people that create the culture, preferred real people from the streets instead of professional models. 75 authentic Sicilian from different occupations, chosen by the fashion duo, rocked the runway and exposed the inspiration of the collection in the best possible way. The diversity of the heights, ages and the proportions of the models incredibly increased the vivacity of the show while live traditional Sicilian music added joy.

From the collection to the show, Dolce&Gabbana gave a very impressive start to the Spring/Summer 2013 season and Domenico Dolce & Stefano Gabbana proved once more that they deserve to be distinguished.
